The phrase “Freshman 15” refers to the myth that a typical freshman goes to college and gains fifteen pounds while experiencing the bliss of unlimited freedom (and a lot of late night pizza). Whereas the original concept of the Freshman 15 may not be statistically accurate, what is true is that college is a time of endless opportunities and unbridled freedoms. A mismanagement of freedom in college can lead to unhealthy relationships, poor grades, and an immature faith that causes some to lose more than the 15 pounds of weight they might gain.
