FOR PARENTS
You know your teenager best. The Launch Mission partners with you as you help them grow in faith, explore their direction, and practice independence before life after high school begins.
YOUR ROLE IN THE TRANSITION
Preparation happens through ordinary conversations, growing responsibility, and the chance to practice before they are on their own. Help your teenager work on three connected areas.
Talk about what they believe and how their faith is growing. Help them think ahead about Christian community, church, and mentors in their next setting.
Encourage exploration of their strengths, interests, and values. Help them compare possibilities and take practical steps toward a direction they can own.
Give them increasing responsibility for time, money, commitments, relationships, and decisions while you are still close enough to coach them.
Let your teenager complete the readiness check first. Then compare observations, celebrate strengths, and choose responsibilities they can begin practicing with your support.
A RESOURCE TO USE TOGETHER
The Launch Mission Podcast brings timely conversations about faith, community, college, career, relationships, and independence to students and the parents who guide them.
A new season starts each September for the current senior class, with new episodes every Monday through the end of May. Season 5 is underway, with five seasons of earlier conversations in the vault.
FROM CONTENT TO CONVERSATION
Use the podcast, companion blog, and weekly topic sheets to start a conversation that fits what your teenager is facing. Listen first, ask open questions, and choose one next step together.
Ask what surprised them, what they agreed with, and what they would like to understand better.
Connect the topic to a real decision, challenge, relationship, or responsibility in their life.
Help them choose one practical action. Agree on a time to check back and hear what they learned.
