MAKING THE TRANSITION (Part One)

Please buckle your seatbelt and prepare for liftoff. In just a matter of a few months, you will be launching into a new stratosphere of life. You are college bound.

It won’t be long now before you will be living the dorm life, taking that soon-to-be familiar walk to class, and meeting new friends that you will know for the rest of your life. Starting your freshman year in college is the beginning of an exciting new season of life. A lot is changing and even more change is just around the corner. To prepare for this journey, we want to spend the next few weeks with a 5 part blog series called MAKING THE TRANSITION. In the series we will give you five things that you should do before starting college. For each one, we suggest that you spend the week doing what is suggested and not wait until you have read each one. If you want to wait until this summer, make a note of the link and come back to this series then. Here we go…

1. Recruit A Prayer Team– Prayer is a necessity of a healthy spiritual life. This involves, not only praying often yourself, but also having other people regularly pray for you. Before you go off to college, find a team of people who will commit to pray for you daily. This shouldn’t be hard to do. Any adult who has acted as a mentor in your life would gladly agree to such an offer. I suggest you ask 10 people to pray for you daily. You can even give them a list of specifics to pray for or you can email them once a month to update them on your prayer needs.
