As a high school senior, in the class of 2024, you have been waiting on this year for a very long time. Chances are, sometime in the first grade, you were told that you were in the Class of 2024 and that seemed like a lifetime away. Actually, then, it was but now it is here.
Soon, you will be dawning the square cap on your head and moving over your tassel to the side of a high school graduate. That will be exciting but, before that happens, I want to challenge you with this question: Are You Prepared?
The Launch Mission Podcast and The Launch Pad Blog were designed to help ensure that you can answer a confident “YES!” to that question of preparedness. Some of the topics that we plan to present this semester include:
- The differences between high school and college: socially, academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
- Adulting for the first time.
- Finding a major and thinking about your future career.
- Finding community in college.
- Knowing what you believe about your faith and how it differs from other truth voices on campus.
- Developing life management skills for life on your own.
These topics, and others, will be discussed on the podcast and then explained in more detail on the blog. I hope that you will take full advantage of these resources as you prepare for life after high school.
