So… What Exactly Is YoungLife College?

If you’ve heard of Young Life before, you may think of it as a ministry for middle school and high school students. But did you know Young Life also has a ministry specifically designed for college students?

Young Life College exists to help students find friendship, community, and opportunities to grow in their faith during their college years. Like Young Life in high school, the ministry focuses heavily on relationships. Instead of expecting students to have everything figured out, Young Life College creates spaces where students can ask questions, build genuine friendships, and explore what following Jesus looks like in everyday life.

One thing that makes Young Life College unique is its emphasis on belonging. Whether you’ve grown up in church, are still figuring out what you believe, or simply want to meet people, students are invited into a community where relationships come first. Many campuses offer weekly gatherings, small groups, social events, service opportunities, and leadership experiences that help students connect with one another.

As you prepare for college, it’s easy to focus on things like your dorm room, class schedule, and meal plan. But don’t forget to think about community too. The people you spend time with will shape your college experience in powerful ways.

Throughout this Campus Ministry Spotlight series, we’re introducing you to different ministries so you can begin exploring what types of communities may be available on your future campus. Young Life College is just one example of a place where students can find friendship, support, and encouragement during the transition to college.
