Before You Go…(Part Two)

Continuing on from taking care of your space, it’s time to prepare your mindset. College will challenge you in new ways, so Practice Doing Hard Things.

College brings new challenges—mentally, socially, spiritually. Practicing discomfort now will help you later. Start a new workout, take a cold shower, or have a hard conversation. These micro-challenges build resilience.

One summer, I made myself run three mornings a week. I hated it at first. But when college got hard, I remembered that I had already done hard things—and it helped me push through.

Try it! Choose one “hard thing” to do this week. Write down how you feel before and after doing it. Notice how doing difficult things on purpose builds confidence.
