Before You Go…(Part Three)

Next up, let’s talk about something small that makes a big difference—anchoring yourself in truth with a verse to carry into college.

The Bible encourages believers to hide God’s Word in their hearts so they can live in alignment with His truth. Psalm 119:11 says, “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Scripture helps us resist temptation, remember God’s promises, and follow Him with confidence—even when emotions run high or circumstances shift.

When I felt overwhelmed during my first semester, I taped a Bible verse above my bed to remind me that I wasn’t alone. I read it every morning, and over time, I memorized it so I could recall the truth whenever I needed it.

Two of my favorites are Isaiah 41:10 and Philippians 1:6. I encourage you to find one that speaks to your season!

Try it! Write your verse on an index card and tape it inside your laptop, on your mirror, above your bed, or wherever you’ll see it often!
