So… What Exactly Is RUF?

As you prepare for college, you’ll probably hear about several different Christian organizations on campus. One you may come across is RUF.

So…what exactly is it?

RUF stands for Reformed University Fellowship, a Christian campus ministry that exists to reach college students with the hope of the gospel and help them grow into lifelong followers of Jesus. While RUF is rooted in the Reformed tradition, students from all backgrounds are welcome to participate, ask questions, and explore their faith.

One of the things that makes RUF unique is its focus on authentic relationships. Rather than expecting students to have everything figured out, RUF creates spaces where students can wrestle with difficult questions, study God’s Word, build lasting friendships, and receive encouragement from campus ministers and fellow students.

College is a season where your faith will likely be challenged, stretched, and strengthened. Having a community that walks with you through those experiences can make a huge difference. Ministries like RUF exist to remind students that they don’t have to navigate college alone.

As we’ve seen throughout this Campus Ministry Spotlight series, every campus ministry has a different style, but they all exist to help students find community and continue growing in their relationship with Christ.
