On Tuesday, we talked about saying yes to God. But here’s the hard truth: your “yes” will struggle to survive without community.
Will Hardin’s story proves it. From high school sports and student government to mission trips and now college life, community has always been the thread that held everything together. Whether it was mentors speaking truth into his life, teammates encouraging him, or his new fraternity brothers giving him a chance to live out his faith in college—he’s seen how accountability and support make all the difference.
And here’s the kicker: college professors won’t chase you down about assignments, your parents won’t be there to make sure you’re up on time, and youth group won’t automatically be built into your week. You’ve got to choose community. Find a church, join a small group, or grab lunch with people who want to grow in their faith too.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says it best: “Two are better than one… If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.”
So while senior year is still full of Friday night lights and hanging out with friends you’ve known since kindergarten, start practicing now. Invest in the people who will help you grow, and seek out those who will do the same when you step onto campus next fall.
Because when the excitement of college wears off and real challenges show up, it won’t be your GPA or your dorm decor that helps. It’ll be your people in your corner, cheering you on.
