There’s something about the in-between that nobody really prepares you for.
The first few months of senior year (or your first semester of college) can feel a little like standing halfway up a mountain — far from where you started, but not quite sure how to reach the top.
In Monday’s podcast episode, Rob Ashworth shared how faith grows not just in the highs or lows, but between them — those everyday moments filled with uncertainty, pressure, or waiting. And honestly? That’s where most of us live.
When things get hard, it’s easy to call on God. When things are good, gratitude flows freely. But it’s the ordinary days — the 3 p.m. classes, the cafeteria small talk, the “I’m fine” kind of days — where we have to choose to keep walking with Him.
Scripture puts it this way:
“Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.” — Psalm 23:4
Even when the valley feels endless or the mountain looks too steep, God is still there — steady, patient, and ready to guide you one step at a time.
So if your semester feels uncertain right now, take heart. The in-between isn’t wasted. It’s where faith gets real.
Practical step: Start or end your day with gratitude. Write down one “valley” moment and one “mountain” moment — then thank God for showing up in both.
