Turning Down the Noise

Let’s be real — life gets loud.
Classes, social plans, work, notifications, responsibilities… it’s a lot. And when the world is that noisy, it’s no wonder we struggle to hear God’s voice.

Sometimes, it’s not that God isn’t speaking — it’s that we’re too distracted to listen.

In Monday’s Launch Mission podcast, we were reminded that faith isn’t just about showing up on Sunday or saying we trust God during tough times. It’s about tuning our hearts to the Holy Spirit every day — even in the middle of the chaos.

But here’s the challenge: that kind of awareness takes intention. It might look like choosing quiet over constant noise, saying no to one more plan, or putting your phone down for ten minutes to breathe and just be.

Jesus modeled this all the time.
Luke 5:16 says,

“But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”

He wasn’t escaping people — He was connecting with His Father. If Jesus needed that kind of quiet, we definitely do too.

The truth is, when we slow down enough to notice His presence, we start to hear God in the little things — in conversations, in Scripture, in the peace that shows up out of nowhere.

So maybe this week isn’t about doing more. Maybe it’s about doing less.
Turn down the noise, and tune in to the One who’s been speaking all along.
