Faith Doesn’t Grow Alone: Finding Your People in College

If Tuesday’s post was about owning your faith, today’s is about protecting it.

When you head to college, it’s tempting to think independence means doing life solo — but the truth is, your faith isn’t meant to live in isolation. Even Jesus surrounded Himself with friends who shared His mission.

Finding community doesn’t always happen on day one. It might take showing up to a campus ministry when you don’t know anyone yet, or trying out a few churches before one feels like home. But keep showing up — that’s where growth happens.

Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” The right community will encourage you, challenge you, and remind you who you are when college makes you forget.

Your faith might start as something personal, but it thrives when it’s shared. Whether that’s late-night prayer with a roommate or Sunday mornings at a local church — community keeps your faith alive and active.
